Issue No: 1 | Effective Date: 15 March, 2010
UX-i has a strong commitment to user privacy and the integrity of ways in which we use, process, store and exploit Service data. This Privacy Policy applies to the Services provided by the following Sites:
http://tweetzi.com
http://tweetzi.com/local
This policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that UX-i does not own or control, including but not limited to third party services you access though the Site, or to individuals that UX-i does not employ or manage.
Protecting User Privacy
In various parts of the Service, we record data in the form of search queries and user posts. Such data may contain personally identifiable information such as your I.P. address. This data is collected to help UX-i manage and control the Service.
UX-i will not share any of your Personally Identifiable Information, except for the information you choose to
publicly disclose in the posts you publish.
UX-i, or users that publish posts via the Service, may provide links to third party web sites, which may have different privacy practices than UX-i. We are not responsible for, nor have any control over, the privacy policies on these third party web sites. We encourage all users to read the privacy policies of every web site you visit.
Information You Post
When you make a post via the Service, information about you, including your Twitter profile information, may be visible to other users. If you post personal information online that is accessible to the public, that information becomes publicly available and can be collected and used by others and redistributed through the internet and other media channels. You may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return.
Twitter Account Data
UX-i never stores Twitter passwords on its data systems or servers. Twitter usernames are recorded in a log when a user makes a post using the service. This is done to protect and control the Service for the benefit of all users.
User Communications
When you send email or other communication to UX-i, we may retain those communications in order to process your inquiries, respond to your requests and improve our services.
Cookies
Like many web sites, we also use "cookie" technology to collect additional web site usage data and to improve the Site and our Service. A cookie is a small data file that we transfer to your computer's hard disk. UX-i may use both session cookies and persistent cookies to better understand how you interact with the Site and our Service, to monitor aggregate usage by our users and web traffic routing on the Site, and to improve the Site and our Services. A session cookie enables certain features of the Site and our Service and is deleted from your computer when you disconnect from or leave the Site. A persistent cookie remains after you close your browser and may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to the Site. Persistent cookies can be removed by following your web browser help file directions. Most Internet browsers automatically accept cookies. You can instruct your browser, by editing its options, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the web sites you visit.
Information Security
We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where data is stored.
We restrict access to full Service data information to UX-i employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our services. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.
Information Sharing & Disclosure
UX-i only shares Service data (which includes internet protocol addresses and Twitter usernames) with other companies, governments, law enforcement agencies or individuals outside of UX-i in the following limited circumstances:
We have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to (a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request, (b) enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations thereof, (c) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues, or (d) protect against imminent harm to the rights, property or safety of UX-i, its users or the public as required or permitted by law.
Commercial & Non-Commercial Exploitation of Information
We may share (both commercially and non-commercially) with third parties certain pieces of aggregated, non-Personally (where internet protocol / twitter account information has been omitted) Identifiable Information. Such information does not identify you individually or your personal use of the Service.
If UX-i becomes involved in a merger, acquisition, or any form of sale of some or all of its assets, we will provide notice before Service related data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
UX-i reserves the right to use and exploit non-Personally Identifiable Information in any way it sees morally and ethically fit for financial gain.
Data Integrity
UX-i processes Service information only for the purposes for which it was collected and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We review our data collection, storage and processing practices to ensure that we only collect, store and process information needed to provide, monitor or improve the Service.
Enforcement
UX-i regularly reviews its compliance with this Privacy Policy.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may change from time to time. We will not reduce your rights under this policy without your explicit consent, and we expect most such changes will be minor. Regardless, we will post any policy changes on this page and, if the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice across the domains listed above. Each version of this privacy policy will be identified at the top of the page by its issue number and effective date, and we will also keep prior versions of this privacy policy in an archive for your review.
